LD Williams - #30shadesofme
Day 4 Era I wish I had lived in if not now
A slight cheat in that I Did live in the 60s, but not at an age that i
would have liked. I was only 5 in 1960 and 15 when that decade ended.
My reason is basically that it was So much a decade of hope, of invention,
of newness.
Britain had Finally emerged from the horrors of the war and was beginning
to flourish once again, but this time in so many new areas.
It was a time of hope, of belief, something that we seem to have forgotten
these days.
So there you have it, my choice, my era.
Swinging London / 60's Fashion: http://youtu.be/d-9Ic-7k9O4
Beat goes on - Array
Omar Luna - 2:03 Former fags
roberta panzeri - Array
Modeberatung - Love the 60th!!! Nice boots and short skirts are a perfect combination!!!
Jack The Hat - No, you're not weird, this is actually a very normal thing that most of us
go through. I yearn for the 1920s, because they were actually the
inspiration for the 1960s fashions!! I grew up in the 60s ( and loved it)
but Art Deco, in my view, was more beautiful in terms of style that is
still futuristic Hard to believe it started 100 years ago...
KTLafort - Love your video!
MrDannyhood66 - I grew up in 80s had lots of fun, but even then the hair styles' big hair
and short hair look totally sucked, Like the song writing became generic
weak and weaker typical. So haten it, Its like people are happy being sold
mediocrity, their failure only happens from a lack of originality
MrBook - Smashing! Nice touch having it go into colo(u)r for the organ solo.
Sarah Fridley - Whats the song???
Bob Parker - Rod Argent, Twiggy and Mary Quant. Probably a scent of Eau! de London,
too..... Sigh.
Zolega89 - wish i had lived in the 60's
pckg21c - I also think as much as you. The Internet-era in the 90's were very
interesting.
KJRSTN LDZBRSK - I was born in the wrong decade.
shrivel1 - Montag, this 'unmod pop song' as you call it was released in 1964, was way
before its time and sums up 1960s Britain just as much as any of the ones
you mentioned. It might not be what you would call mod, but it's definately
60s, definately real and it AINT , how did you describe it? Lame?
samguy8 - Back in 1994 I was in this bar/club in L.A. and they were playing a video
called "60's-a-go-go". It was produced by a local company and was a
smashing montage of dancers, fashions and music. I was a fool for not
trying to obtain a copy! Someone may still have it.
Diana Fetterman - I was in London during the swinging 60's. It was wonderful, I remember
wearing all those clothes, the mini dresses and skirts, the PVC raincoats
and white boots. In fact I was stopped by and American couple who wanted to
take my picture so they could show their friends back in the US what the
young people were wearing in London. I was a sensational time, one that
will never be repeated.
staypress - interesting observation actually me and my mate discuss this and we realise
that people in the 60's didnt realise at the time that it would be looked
back on as it is you know just another day but as for now it aint worth a
s#t and no it will not be remeberred
deadmanswife2 - walking with my cat named dawg question 70 but mini skirts for me I wear
wHat I wanted then . I wear what I want now. we had the world by the..
talkin bout my generation Ffffade away : D
joannalexus1 - Gorgeous! Carnaby Street is still a fab place to be and shop, why was i
born in the wrong era?!
venusinfers1 - swingy*
NilezII - Groovy!
jethropike1964 - @sergioecz The song is called She's Not There by The Zombirs. It got to #12
in the British single charts in the summer of 1964.
thumbbandit - 1st place i would go if i had a time machine! 2nd would the 1600s
sixtiesbooks - cool, thanks!
LastTree - who's the guy in the blue room?
hallonsyltmuffin - @Ornieee The Zombies - she's not there
Jan Rene - hipsters today are posers and followers!
racheldagger - sometimes i think i was born in the wrong era. i hate the dress style now
because it's all the same, cheap-looking, and everyone tries to be
something they're not. in the 60's, people exuded style and class without
trying hard.
Trish Peyton - Granted, I know there were turbulent times back then and the fashion was
mediocre..But the counter culture and music is what made this decade what
it was..I love the '60's and always will..There wasn't any other decade nor
will there be any other like it..Peace to all!!!
pckg21c - Did you spend the youth in this age? You are a lucky generation. My youth
was PUNKS....
James Chumsa-Jones - They are people trying to bring this back...they are called hipsters.
Slievedubh - I hate the 'Quant look'. It was for women whose bodies had not developed
properly. Ultimate result - all the 'eating disorders' we have today.
jenzeppelin - so very nice, thanks for posting!
maruta555 - At least you were born in the right country...
airscrew1 - There's an excellent DVD available called Look at Life in the 60's. It
comprises of a series of colour films made by the Rank organization, and
all films were shot in or around London. There's on on my channel called
Scooter Commuter.
BreezesofConey - I can't believe how long ago all this way. In a way it feels like it was
just 10 yrs ago or something. I was a teenager on the town and now I'm
pushing 60. I used to love shopping at Lord John in those days and going
about with my friends to all the clubs and parties.
SenorCajones - @dan1elpess0a There was more life before the internet and computers.
hebneh - The Mini-Skirt Mob!
dani9714 - Gosh, I was clearly born in the wrong era :( thanks for the video!
67tr876 - My dad told me his grandad hated the 60s lol
deadmanswife2 - remember the Yardley the makeup the pots of lip gloss
safetychoice - @xKeyshia18x You are so right. We did know that it was a special time.
kickassfan - 0:31 that camera man looks so sick and funny at the same time...
1Doz - back = back then
Mod60s - We can only worship, take this from a MOD at heart!
DieHardBeatlesFan - Love It - PVC Coats + Boots, Hot Pants Minis + a figure to die for those
were the days my friend lol!! - GR8 share Laura
SuperNevile - @LastTree Looks a bit like Nureyev (esp in profile), but I could be wrong.
